Maria Mazo

At the age of 13 she was the youngest participant and award winner at the International Competition for Young Pianists "Arthur Rubinstein in Memoriam" (Poland). Now she belongs to the very promising artists of her generation with an eclectic repertoire. At the 12th International Van Cliburn Piano Competition (USA), Maria Mazo was distinguished with the Jury Award. She has won first prize at the 3rd Richard Laugs Beethoven Piano Competition in Mannheim and at the Hastings Music Festival Piano Concerto Competition (England). In addition she has been prize winner at the International Competition for Piano and Orchestra Citta di Cantu (Italy) several times. At the International Giuliano Pecar Piano Competition (Italy) she won third prize. She is recipient of stipendia from the Solti Foundation and the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation "Live Music Now!". Maria Mazo has collaborated with such artists as Andrei Gavrilow, Ian Hobson, Abbey Simon and Arie Vardi. She has passed her concert examinations with Matti Raekallio in Hanover, where she currently is completing her master study in Media and Music at the Institute for Journalism and Communications Research.
